Self-Acceptance

The word itself is clear and precise. However, let me explain it further. Self-Acceptance means loving yourself as you are, accepting your circumstances and not hating them or becoming angry, having compassion for yourself and embracing who you are.

The first step in self-acceptance is accepting who you are.

This helps you to realise your habits, strengths, and weaknesses. Please note, self-acceptance does not mean accepting yourself and not trying to improve yourself but being aware of your personality and traits is a way to accept who you are and make yourself better.

Understanding your bad behaviour puts you in a position to seek help or to make yourself a good person in the long run. At times you want to accept yourself as you are, but also realising that you have a toxic character that needs to be improved.

Taking into consideration that self-acceptance is different from self-esteem. Self-esteem refers to how valuable you see yourself, whereas with self-acceptance you can embrace the real you unconditionally.

No one can love you like you do. The secret into loving others and the people that surround you is by accepting who you are and loving yourself. This way it is easier to embrace your originality.
